Terms of service

1. The Service

• The Service lets you find and join local hobby circles, create and run circles and events, talk on boards, in chats and DMs, use check-in, seats, games and polls on the day of an event, keep Today's log, and pass on used items locally.
• The Service is not for dating or romantic relationships.
• The Service is free. We do not handle payments between users.

2. Who can use it, and your account

• You must be 18 or older.
• You sign in with a Google, Apple or email account. Do not let anyone else use your account or pass it on.
• Do not use a display name or profile that is false or pretends to be someone else.
• Do not use another account to get around a restriction.

3. What is not allowed

The following are prohibited:

• Breaking the law or anything that leads to crime
• Harassment, threats, stalking, discrimination or defamation
• Sexual, violent or cruel content, or content unsuitable for minors
• Using the Service for dating or making sexual advances
• Sales pitches, solicitation (pyramid schemes, religion, investments, political campaigns and the like) or spam
• Pretending to be someone else, false information, or infringing others' rights (copyright, portrait rights, privacy and so on)
• Posting someone's phone number, address or other personal information without their consent, or filming and posting people who do not want to be filmed
• Gambling or games played for money
• Drinking or smoking under 20, or pressuring anyone to drink
• Luring people to outside sites or payment methods, fraud, or unfair demands for payment in advance
• Unauthorized access, manipulating the Service, putting excessive load on it, or automated mass actions
• Anything else we judge inappropriate

4. Posts and messages

• There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users on the Service.
• You are responsible for what you post, and you confirm you have the rights needed to post it.
• We may use your posts free of charge as far as needed to provide and display the Service and keep it safe (storing, copying, displaying, resizing, showing translations and so on).
• Today's log shares short silent clips and photos within a circle. Get the consent of the people in them. Each day's posts by members are put together into a vlog that the circle's members can see.
• Use DMs to contact an event's host, staff or attendees, or about a used-item trade. Do not use them for advertising, solicitation or personal advances.
• Translations are machine translations and may not be accurate.

5. Circles and events

• Circles and events are created and run by users. We are not the host and do not guarantee an activity's content, safety or that it takes place.
• Hosts must state the purpose, date and time, place, capacity, conditions, fees, cancellation handling and safety notes accurately, and respect attendees' safety and privacy.
• Only ask sign-up questions the activity needs. Answers are shown to the host and staff.
• Event fees are paid between the people involved, outside the Service. Settle refunds and similar issues between yourselves.
• Attendees should follow the host's instructions and the venue's rules and look after their own safety.
• An owner can appoint staff and hand ownership to another member. If your circle has other members, hand over ownership before deleting your account.

6. Used-item trades

• Sellers must describe an item's condition, price and hand-over terms accurately.
• We are not a party to any sale and do not handle payment, delivery or guarantees. Trade at your own risk and settle problems between yourselves.
• You may not list anything whose trade is prohibited or restricted by law or these Terms, including medicines and medical devices, alcohol and tobacco, weapons, knives and other dangerous goods, illegal drugs, counterfeit or pirated goods, stolen goods, living animals, tickets for unauthorized resale, personal information, and adult goods.
• Luring people to outside sites and asking for payment in advance are prohibited. Report suspicious listings or trades.

7. Reports, blocks and moderation

• You can report and block inappropriate posts and users. When you block someone, their posts and messages are hidden from you and we are asked to review them.
• We review reports, and if we find a breach of these Terms we may remove posts or messages, restrict features, suspend circles or events, or suspend accounts. We may not be able to tell you the reason.
• If you're in danger, call 110 (police). For an ambulance or fire, call 119.

8. Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time: My → Settings → Delete account. Deleted information cannot be restored. What is deleted and what is kept is described in Delete your account and data.

9. Changes to and suspension of the Service

We may change, add or end features. We may stop the Service without notice for maintenance, failures, disasters and similar reasons.

10. Liability

• We do not guarantee that the Service is free of defects or errors or that it suits your purposes.
• Problems between users, such as in circle activities, events, DMs or used-item trades, are to be settled between the people involved.
• Except in cases of our intent or gross negligence, our liability is limited to direct and ordinary damages. Where Japan's Consumer Contract Act or other laws do not allow this limit, those laws apply.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may change these Terms under Article 548-4 of Japan's Civil Code after announcing the change and its effective date in advance in the Service or on this page.

12. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by Japanese law. We will try to resolve any dispute about the Service in good faith; if that fails, the court determined by law has jurisdiction.
